Back to Kibera!!!!!!!

Hey friends,

The Kibera Penda Project team is excited to announce that a group of leaders will be headed back into Kibera on March 12 - one week from today!!!!

We are pumped that we are going to get to see the kids very soon, but we know that there is a lot of work that needs to be done. Our main focus of this trip is going to be on the New Hope Scholarship Fund.

As you know, we have been the given the opportunity - through the amazing support of our sponsors - to send over 30 kids from Kibera to high school this year! With that opportunity comes a lot of coordination and logistics that needs to be figured out. Next week, a group of leaders will be working alongside Langata High School to make sure that all of the students in the scholarship fund are enrolled in school and being taken care of.

The Kibera Penda Project is blessed to have Trecinda Dattalo, a Houston-area teacher, traveling with us next week. She is going to be working as an after-school tutor to ensure that all of the kids are completing their school work and passing their classes. The Kibera Penda Project not only desires to send kids to school, but to see them excel. We believe that the power to change Kibera lies in the hands of these children - and education is the key to make it happen!

We hope that you will continue to support and follow the Kibera Penda Project as we work next week. We will be posting daily blogs featuring pictures and stories of our experiences, as well as keeping you updated on all of the good that is happening in Kibera.

We can't thank you enough for the support you have given us and the love you have given Africa.

- The Kibera Penda Project Team
