Words cannot describe how amazing our summer in Kibera was. We had TONS of volunteers come out and show some love to the Kibera Penda Project kids. We provided medical assessments and disease testing, played lots of games and (unexpectedly) began remodeling the New Hope Primary School!! Through some very generous donations and fundraising, we were able to buy new land next to the existing primary school and begin constructing new buildings.
The previous school only had one classroom per grade, with about 40 to 50 kids in each class. We are currently expanding the school in order to provide smaller student-to-teacher ratios and a healthier learning environment.
The Kibera Penda Project team is super pumped about all the amazing work going on right now. The love and support that has been shown this summer is indescribable and we cannot thank you enough for what you are doing!!
